Technicolor Games Partners with Ubisoft on Rainbow Six Extraction.

Where “Your Team is Your Greatest Weapon”

Five plus years in the making, the Technicolor Games team couldn’t be more excited for the release of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction® by Ubisoft.

“This was an immense opportunity for the team,” said Prakash Bhanu G, Head of Creative Operations, Technicolor Games – calling the Rainbow Six series “the epitome of AAA games.”

In this next iteration of the multiplayer tactical shooter, you and your elite squad of Rainbow Six operators face off against an evolving alien threat, with each mission bringing more intense and unpredictable experiences for the player.

The Technicolor Games team immersed themselves in the project, creating both Environment Props and Hero Assets, including headgear and charms, skins for the weapons, and numerous texture pallets for the characters’ uniforms.

Working as a team for more than half a decade, they explored more and more evolutionary concepts with each progressive batch of deliverables. Total assets completed by the team – which numbered 57 at peak size – include 346 Concepts, 2084 Props, and 7858 character customization assets for in game rewards and monetized content.

“This was a great opportunity to explore multiple new areas of the gaming division,” said Senior Supervisor Koti Reddy, citing everything from new sculpt work and re-topos to new learnings about Anvil. “Overall, we are proud and jubilant that we were part of this journey with the R6 team [who] always made us feel like an extended part of the team.”

“This was one of the most memorable projects I’ve been part of,” added Team Leader Ashish Sharma. “The onsite visit helped us a lot in understanding the project requirements and we got to work on many different and new types of props. The team at Ubisoft was always very supportive, which is a key factor for a successful collaboration.”

“As a team, this was a great opportunity to explore our art on such a huge title from Ubisoft. We feel proud of the output achieved – the quality and deliveries to the client – from years of our hard work, which has been acknowledged by the client on many occasions,” said Bhanu.

Production Manager Lokesh Reddy concluded, “The client’s communication and support were always very positive. Free to explore and share our thoughts, it was a beautiful learning curve throughout the project from the day we started, until the last one.”

Rainbow Six Extraction is available for the following platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna.
